The present day Israel is wrong to assume they are God’s chosen people.  For what child of God would allow innocent blood to be shed?  But as it says in Revelation “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there.  But exclude the outer court; do no measure it because it has been given to the Gentiles.  They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.” Revelation 11:2-3
